Golf betting for the 2019 season begins with the Sentry Tournament of Champions, formely SBS Tournament of Champions, Hyundai Tournament of Champions and SBS Championship in 2010, on the Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort in Hawaii on January 3rd through the 6th, 2019. Last year Mercedes-Benz was the sponsor but this year it will be SBS which is the Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS).
It is a winners only event where as many as 34 golfers will be on the golf betting odds board. About 34 PGA professionals will be competing for the first title of the 2019 season. The elite field will be competing for their share of $5.6 million. Anyone about to bet on golf will notice that Tiger Woods will not be among those in the tournament.

Geoff Ogilvy won the first event of the season, the SBS Championship at the Plantation course on in Kapalua, between last years winner's on tour with an impressive six shot victory.
A year after winning by six shots, Ogilvy rallied from a two-shot deficit with 10 holes to play with smart decisions and flawless golf for a 6-under 67 and a one-shot victory over Rory Sabbatini on Sunday.
Ogilvy posted his eighth consecutive round in the 60s on the Plantation Course. He joined fellow Australian Stuart Appleby as the only repeat winners since this tournament moved to Kapalua in 1999, and he became only the seventh player in the 58 years of this winners-only tournament to win in consecutive years. |
