Puerto Rico Open at Trump International Golf Club, Rio Grande, Puerto Rico was played the very first time in March of 2008, this was also the first PGA Tour event ever to be held in Puerto Rico, and is dedicated to Juan "Chi Chi" Rodriguez, the country's most notable golfer.
This PGA tournament is played at the Trump International Golf Club-Puerto Rico, which was designed by Tom Kite and previously known as the Coco Beach Golf & Country Club.
The Trump International Golf Club-Puerto Rico is comprised of two 18-hole championship courses, the Championship and the International, its meticulously crafted fairways boast stellar scenery. Each course winds through lush tree groves and over waterways and lakes, amid tropical blooms and past scenic bluffs, delivering an unparalleled golfing experience to players of all levels.
United Way and the Puerto Rico Open have joined efforts and have come up with a grant program in order to make a difference in the life of six students from the Rio Grande municipality, the nearby community of the official PGA.

Scott Brown shoots a final-round 70 to claim his first win on the PGA TOUR. Brown went from a one-shot deficit to a one-shot victory when he made a 4-foot birdie putt on the par-5 18th hole to beat Fabian Gomez.
2012 Puerto Rico Open Winner
George McNeill wins the 2012 Puerto Rico Open at Rio Grande. McNeill birdied the last three holes for a three-under-par 69 to rally past Japanese star Ryo Ishikawa. McNeill finished at 16-under 272 and earned $630,000 for the second victory of his career.
