The renowned golf course in Orlando, Florida, that Arnold Palmer has owned for four decades and which has hosted a PGA TOUR event since 1979, and he is eager to see the golf best players take on his remodeled creation when the Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by MasterCard returns for its 32nd edition.
Many must be curious about the upgrades to this golf course that has already been considered one of the great ball-striking tests in golf. The Bay Hill course is in every way strengthened and the ball-striking examination has not been altered appreciably.
Tiger Woods won what was then known as the Bay Hill Invitational four years in a row from 2000 to 2003. This is one of only four occasions that a golfer has won the same event four times in a row on the PGA Tour, but he finished tied for 46th in 2004. The most recent winner was Martin Laird in 2011. The list of previous winners includes Phil Mickelson, Payne Stewart, Ernie Els, Ben Crenshaw, Fred Couples, Paul Azinger, Fuzzy Zoeller, Tom Kite, Lee Trevino and Palmer in 1971.

2011 Arnold Palmer Invitational Winner
Martin Laird started the day two shots clear but appeared to have squandered his chance when he found the water en route to a double bogey at the 11th. Laird, who led the field by two strokes heading into the final round, struggled mightily for most of the round, giving up the lead to Steve Marino on the back nine. Laird hit into the water on No. 11 for double bogey and a bogey on No. 14 put him three shots behind. Laird started to climb back with birdies on Nos. 15 and 16, and made clutch pars on Nos. 17 and 18 to secure his second PGA Tour victory.
2010 Arnold Palmer Invitational Winner
Ernie Els has caught fire as he picked up his second straight win on Monday when he won the 2010 Arnold Palmer Invitational by two strokes.
The event, which has undergone numerous name changes since 1966, took Palmer's name in 2007. It's now the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard. It started as the Florida Citrus Open Invitational, held at the Rio Pinar Golf Club in East Orlando, but Bay Hill took over the name in 1979. Nestle served as the head sponsor of the former Nestle Invitational from 1889-95. A competitive playing field and the celebrity of Palmer have kept the Palmer Invitational relevant through the years, serving as one of the PGA Tour's brightest events outside of the four major championships. Most of the Tour's best players, including Tiger Woods, play the event annually. Now Tiger Woods is planning to return to professional golf at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, according to the New York Post. The golfer has recently been working with a swing coach.
