The Genesis Open, is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour, first played in 1926. Formerly known as the Northern Trust Open, Nissan Open, and originally known as the Los Angeles Open, it is played annually in February in Pacific Palisades, California. The tournament has been contested at the Riviera Country Club on a near-continuous basis since 1973. Hyundai Motor Group, based in South Korea, takes over sponsorship for the first time, after nine seasons from Northern Trust Corporation, based in Chicago, following a 21-year sponsorship by Nissan. Entertainer Glen Campbell was the celebrity host of the Los Angeles Open from 1971 to 1983.

2011 Northern Trust Open Championship Winner

Aaron Baddeley won the 2011 Northern Trust Open for his first PGA Tour victory in four years. This win thanks to a 2-under-par 69 in the final round, giving him a 12-under total and a two-stroke victory over Vijay Singh at Riviera Country Club. Baddeley closed with a 2-under 69 for a two-shot victory over Singh.

2010 Northern Trust Open Championship Winner

Stricker watched a six-shot lead slip to two after just five holes on Sunday at Riviera before he steadied himself and closed with a 1-under 70 for a two-shot victory over Luke Donald in the Northern Trust Open in Los Angeles.

His fourth PGA Tour victory in his last 15 starts moved him up to No. 2 in the world ranking.

Stricker won for the eighth time in his career, and again welled up with tears after the victory. This time, all it took was a reminder of where he was four years ago, when he lost his PGA Tour card.

2009 Northern Trust Open Winner

Phil Mickelson began the final round with a 4-stroke lead, eagled the first hole, then had a run of bogeys. He eventually lost the lead to Steve Stricker, but Mickelson birdied the 70th and 71st holes to reclaim the lead, then parred the last for the win. Mickelson posted rounds of 63, 72, 62 and 72, 15-under total.
